Orphans Court Appeal Victory

For Release: Attorney Glen Ridenour is again successful in an Orphans Court Appeal.

How to Contest A Will and Win

Orphans Court Appeal, Another Victory for Attorney Ridenour.

Even judges make mistakes.

For example, during a Will Contest case, judges make rulings. Usually, these rulings are correct or, if incorrect, don’t affect the trial’s outcome. But, if a judge mistakenly decides to exclude an item of evidence, and the exclusion changes the cases’ outcome, you can appeal.  After a court rules on a trial, you must file your appeal quickly to avoid the statute of limitations.  If you do not, your opportunity is lost. Therefore, don’t delay bringing the mistake to a higher court, where a new set of eyes review the decision. The appeals court can fix a lower court judge’s error. Furthermore, they can fix the error and send the issue back for a new hearing.

Follow this link to read the judge’s opinion.

Appeals are Not for Everyone.

Crafting a successful appeal is not easy. It takes years of practice and an understanding of how the Appellate Court Judges make their decisions.  Filing an appeal without a well crafted brief and reasoning laid out for the judges can be a waste of time and money.  The judges can only rule on what you present, and if you give them a jumbled mess, they cannot help you.

Glen’s Background in Appeals.

Attorney Ridenour’s experience in the United States Navy JAGC, his years of work after the Navy doing appeals for Philadelphia indigent defendants, and his work with the Orphans’ Court Appeals have given him the necessary background. His string of victories, including his recent Pennsylvania Supreme Court victory, prove his skills.

The Trial Attorney Doesn’t Have to File The Appeal. You Can Hire a More Experienced Lawyer.

It is not unusual to hire an appellate attorney to file your appeal, not using the trial lawyer. Several people have hired Attorney Ridenour for Appeals work. In short, he is good at fixing a judge’s mistakes (or, sometimes, the trial attorney’s mistakes).

Timing is Everything.

You are giving only a limited time to appeal. Quick action is necessary, as assembling a quality appeal takes time. Don’t wait, as proper research and drafting take time. If you wish to appeal, contact Attorney Ridenour immediately.

Peter recently gave a presentation about Wills & Trusts at my employer, and it was fantastic! He was extremely knowledgeable and provided valuable information to the group. People were very engaged and asked several questions, all of which Peter thoroughly answered. Personally, my husband and I have selected Peter to help us with our estate planning, and he has been very helpful in providing us with all of the information we need to provide a secure future for our family. I was referred to Peter after my divorce to put documents together to protect my assets. He suggested a number of documents that would help protect my children and their future. Also, he put together wills, power of attorney and living wills. I initially spoke with him on the phone, he took 30-40 minutes to understand my situation and explain the benefits of having such documents. After a week or two, I met with him in his office and signed the documents. Everything else was remote phone calls and emails. He re-explained these documents and what whom to share. I am in good hands.
