From Our “Ask a Question” Mailbag: “My mother died recently. Before she died, she was in much pain and on pain medication. My sister forced her to sign a new Will just before she died, leaving me nothing. Can I challenge the Will? I need to talk to a Philadelphia Will Contest Lawyer.”

It’s All We Do; Our Philadelphia Will Contest Lawyer Team Protects Your Rights.

Attorney Glen Ridenour and his team have completed Will Contests throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Most firms do not focus on this area of the law, which is why Glen and his team are in demand throughout both states.  Clients often call us because there is no local firm with our unique focus. Our principal offices are in Jenkintown and Philadelphia, but we have branch offices throughout the states.

A Will Contest can result from any number of sources. Our over 30 years of experience allow us to avoid problems that slow down less experienced firms. Glen Ridenour has handled cases from beginning to end, including winning several Supreme Court Appeals. Contact us if you have questions about your rights in a Philadelphia Will Contest or a Will Challenge anywhere in Pennsylvania or New Jersey.

The Law On Will Contests.

To successfully challenge a Will, you must demonstrate to the judge that it is invalid. There is no jury. A judge oversees Will Contests. Typically, the basis of a successful Will Contest is one of the following:

  • Fraud or Forgery. Was the WIll obtained by giving the deceased false information? Is the Will signed by someone other than the deceased? Then your Glen Ridenour, as your Philadelphia Will Contest Lawyer, can challenge the Will based on Fraud or Forgery.
  • Undue Influence. Was the deceased manipulated into making a Will containing terms the deceased would not have used absent their diminished capacity? If so, Glen Ridenour, as your Philadelphia Will Challenge Lawyer, can challenge the Will based on Undue Influence.
  • Incapacity: Was the deceased so ill, medicated, or mentally diminished that the deceased didn’t sign with the required level of comprehension? If so, Glen Ridenour, as your Philadelphia Will Contest Lawyer, can challenge the Will based on Incapacity.
  • Duress. Did the deceased sign the Will using terms the deceased wouldn’t have otherwise wished because of threats? Such as a person threatening to no longer provide them care? If so, then Glen Ridenour, as your Philadelphia Will Challenge Lawyer, can challenge the Will based on Duress.

I was referred to Peter after my divorce to put documents together to protect my assets. He suggested a number of documents that would help protect my children and their future. Also, he put together wills, power of attorney and living wills. I initially spoke with him on the phone, he took 30-40 minutes to understand my situation and explain the benefits of having such documents. After a week or two, I met with him in his office and signed the documents. Everything else was remote phone calls and emails. He re-explained these documents and what whom to share. I am in good hands.
